Sausage Gravy & Biscuit
Last, but not least, is something that many people might not even know is on Wendys breakfast menu. The Sausage Gravy and Biscuit is a dish on its own for anyone that wants to experience Wendys delicious sausage gravy, their fluffy buttermilk biscuit, and nothing else.
The Sausage Gravy and Biscuit is great on its own, but I really think it goes best as a side dish for one of their delicious breakfast sandwiches.
The Sausage Gravy and Biscuit is exactly what it sounds like. You get a single buttermilk biscuit thats then smothered in Wendys incredible sausage gravy with grilled sausage in it.
Classic Sausage Egg & Cheese Sandwich
Compared to the excess of the Breakfast Baconator, it might come as a surprise to see this simple and classic choice ranked on par. Like the bacon version, it’s a mini and unseeded Viennese style Kaiser-like hard roll dusted with crunchy, coarse semolina for interest. The use of heat-retaining sausage melts the cheese down to a perfect gooeyness that clings to the rippled divots in the sausage, in the egg, the crumb of the roll. Where the bun was proportionately too much in the BEC version, overwhelming its fillings, it was perfectly strong enough for the sausage. It soaked up extra sausage grease without any breakdown in structural integrity, countered its flavor by its more proportionate bread-to-ingredient ration, and was softened by the steam of the meat in a way bacon or just a single egg just couldn’t match. It was substantial without being over the top, making it a solid sandwich in more than heft, and would probably rock with bacon added.

This Is The Worst Wendy’s Breakfast Item According To Nutrition Experts
Wendy’s is an old fast food favorite that continues to attract attention for its plethora of offerings. As the brand explains, it’s important for its team members to remain committed to founder Dave Thomas’ mission, which is “to serve fresh food, at a fair price, in a comfortable atmosphere.”
Wendy’s prides itself on offering a robust menu to its fans that features numerous options, including special breakfast items. A Delish piece rated the brand’s breakfast rather highly and stated that it’s definitely worth giving Wendy’s breakfast menu a shot. It mentions that there are plenty of breakfast choices, ranging from the Breakfast Baconator to the Frosty-ccino . Yum!
That said, if you are keeping track of your health, do note that some of the items on the menu are really bad for you and should not be ordered if you are keeping your health in check.

Wendy’s Started Selling Breakfast Again In 2020
Wendy’s had many failed attempts at serving breakfast over the past 30 years, but the chain officially brought back its breakfast menu in 2020.
From biscuits and croissants to sausage and crispy chicken, the chain offers a range of breakfast options.
As part of an ongoing series to find the best fast-food breakfast sandwiches, I spent a few months trying all of the options at various Wendy’s locations in California, ranking them from worst to best.
I Didn’t Like The Bread On The Classic Bacon Egg And Cheese Sandwich
Most of Wendy’s “classic” sandwiches were served on rolls, which looked completely fine. After one bite, I realized how much bread can make or break a sandwich.
The roll was dull and dry, lacking any real flavor. It was a bit chewy in some spots but tough in others, plus it wasn’t toasted.
It was also a bit too big for the sandwich, making every bite extra bread-y.
However, everything else about this sandwich was first-rate, redeeming this option. The fried egg tasted fresh and the bacon had an intense and enticing smoky flavor.
That said, you can find the same bacon, egg, and cheese combination on much tastier bread.

Wendy’s Breakfast Baconator Is A Morning Take On The Beloved Burger
Considering the Baconator is one of Wendy’s most popular items, it makes sense that the chain would offer a breakfast version of it.
This huge sandwich started with a layer of sausage and several strips of thick-cut, crispy bacon. Considering the meal’s name, I actually wasn’t expecting it to come with sausage. It seemingly stood in for the hamburger patty that comes on the regular Baconator.
The first bed of bacon was covered with melted American cheese, an egg, another slice of cheese, and more bacon. The top layer was slathered in the chain’s creamy Swiss-cheese sauce.
All of this somehow fit together on a single bun the same bread used for the regular Baconator.
After the first bite, I could totally see this being the kind of hearty sandwich you eat the morning after a debaucherous night out, but I tried this on a regular Tuesday, and it was a bit too heavy.
This isn’t to say it wasn’t tasty. However, I didn’t love the inclusion of the Swiss-cheese sauce, especially since the sandwich already had multiple slices of cheese. It made the meal messier and greasier.
Still, the breakfast Baconator is iconic, and I will forever consider it a marvel of the fast-food world.

My Review Of Wendys Entire Breakfast Menu
E.B. Black is a published author who writes fantasy, sci-fi, and romance novels.
For years, Wendys has remained closed in the morning. Unlike most other fast food places, they chose not to have a breakfast menu.
It was the middle of the pandemic, when we were all quarantining in our houses, when Wendys decided to release their new breakfast options. At the time, I was too afraid to venture out of the house to try it, even though it sounded awesome. So I waited and tried the whole menu today, now that Im vaccinated fully.
Good thing I waited because their menu is now expanded to be larger than it was before. I was so excited to try it and share the experience with everyone reading this. I included pictures I took of some of the food items along with the review.
Note: My local Wendys didnt have the Oatmeal Bar or the Sausage Gravy and Biscuit, so I wasnt able to review those, but I was able to try and review everything else.

The Sausage Biscuit Was A Decent No
This sandwich was pretty basic it is literally a biscuit with a sausage patty between it.
Of course, basic doesn’t necessarily mean bad. If you’re in the mood for a light snack to get you through the morning, this sandwich would work.
Wendy’s reportedly tested over 50 different biscuit recipes, and the version the chain landed on was one of the best fast-food biscuits I’ve ever tried.
Although it was on the thinner side, it had a perfectly crumbly outside and pillowy inside. The smaller size also made for a more balanced bread-to-meat ratio. It was salty enough with a mellow butter taste, all without being greasy. I just wish it was a bit sweeter.
Wendy’s sausage was fine, but its flavor wasn’t memorable enough to hold its own. The square-shaped patty had a mostly meaty taste with a mellow presence of black pepper. A layer of cheese would’ve really made it pop.
A version of this sandwich with egg and cheese only costs a dollar more, so I’d opt for that.
Wendy’s Builds On Its Name With Special Menu Items
While this is a pretty localized event, Wendy’s has been all about introducing creative signature menu items. Probably most notable is a change in Frosty flavors, which always causes a stir in stores and on social media. Last summer, Wendy’s introduced the seasonal strawberry flavor, and this winter has ushered in the Peppermint Frosty, a minty twist on the regular vanilla flavor.
The little girl with the red pigtails is also going head-to-head with the King this season Wendy’s and Burger King both have introduced versions of Italian burgers and sandwiches, featuring marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Wendy’s also introduced a new side dish, Garlic Fries, the chain’s natural-cut french fries tossed in a garlic herb sauce.
The chain also brought back the popular Pretzel Bacon Pub Chicken Sandwich trio featuring gooey beer cheese, bacon, and muenster cheese. And of course, there was the famous Purple Frosty Wendy’s posted on its social media to celebrate its partnership with the popular Amazon – Get Free Report-owned streaming platform Twitch.
Between the Hoosier Biscuit Bowl and Wendy’s new $3 breakfast special, for those in Indiana, Wendy’s may just be the hottest place to snag a good drive-thru breakfast.

Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit
The brand-new hot honey chicken biscuit is a feisty retort to the Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr.’s sammie of the same name, and another challenger for the Chicken Sandwich Wars: The Spicy Years. They start with several brilliant advantages: using real honey as the first ingredient, eliminating objectionable saccharine artificiality, and using smoky habanero as the heat source. That pepper’s ashy element automatically adds an unexpected complexity to the hot honey craze and comes through on this sandwich, even before you get to the spurt of heat that pops out halfway through the bite. Where it failed was in the overbalance of citric-type acids that took it too far in a sour direction. And because the sticky syrup glued the pliant biscuit together on both sides, you’re literally stuck with what they give you.

Sausage Egg & Swiss Croissant
Nothing tastes like a warm croissant with eggs and sausages. The pastry itself is freshly made and buttery.
The egg combined with the amazing flavors of Swiss cheese sauce works wonders on the croissant, making your mouth water at its sight.
The sausage patties are thick and tender and ultimately filling. And remember the croissant itself is huge when combined with all these items.
