Our team has worked in the fertility and egg donation field for over a decade helping hopeful parents find egg donors and build their families. We are not an agency or clinic, and we dont handle egg donor recruitment, but we still hear the same questions all the time.

Can I sell my eggs?

How much does selling eggs pay?

Are there selling your eggs requirements?

We are dedicated to providing people the information they need to truly understand the egg donation process. The egg donation process is relatively new compared to other fertility procedures, and it still carries an unfair stigma. Many parents are cautious about pursuing egg donation or speaking openly about their egg donation experiences, and only recently have we seen a change as more people speak out.

Egg donation and fertility in general can be a space that is full of confusion, misinformation, and secrecy, but that tide is starting to turn. We truly want to educate people on all sides of egg donation about the egg donation process. So, lets clear some things up starting with the question: How do I sell my eggs?

Surrogacy And Egg Donation Oregon: Why Here

As one of the most socially progressive places on the planet, Oregon is a sound choice for a straightforward and ethical surrogacy and/or egg donation process. Oregon is home to a number of fantastic IVF clinics and doctors. At Extraordinary Conceptions, we ensure that every party involved is always protected and treated with the utmost respect.

Are There Other Legal And Financial Considerations

Contracts: You may be asked to sign one or more contracts with the recipient. IVF1 does not require egg donors or egg recipients to sign outside legal contracts. Egg donors will sign a document stating that from the time the eggs are removed from her ovaries that they become the property of the recipient couple.

Confidentiality: During this process, we will gather a great deal of information about you from your application and throughout the screening process. This information will be given to potential recipients of your eggs. If you are donating anonymously, the recipient will not be given your name or any information that can be used to identify you. You can obtain copies of any of your medical information. This can be done directly through the patient portal on our website. Alternatively, you can fill out a document called a record release form to receive a printed copy of your medical records. This process is the same as for any patient.

Currently, there are no laws in Illinois that require disclosure of the identity of an egg donor for any reason. However, it is possible that confidentiality laws and regulations may change in the future. For example, there are currently attempts underway to pass laws to allow children who were given up for adoption to obtain their birth certificates. In addition, we cannot guarantee that someone will not discover confidential information by unauthorized means.

Egg Grading And Size Before Selling Eggs

PE

The egg industry has defined what is acceptable to the public in the size and shape of eggs, and many consumers believe that all eggs are precisely the same.

Anything different is frowned upon and considered inferior we know differently, though!Industry eggs are graded, and for the most part, only grade AA eggs make it to the supermarket for general consumption.

Grade A is considered acceptable but of lower quality.

Grade B are eggs that may have stains, irregular shape, or shell quality.

These are sent to foodstuff manufacturers. B eggs are not sold to the general public because they dont measure up to the industry standard. The size and weight of eggs are generally divided into six categories:

  • Peewee 1.25 oz
  • Extra-large 2.25oz

You do not have to grade or size your eggs unless you intend to sell them commercially.

Farmgate sales are exempt from grading.

Also, you do not have to fill the carton with eggs of the same size. For instance, you can vary the size with two large, two medium, and two small.

Different clinics have different processes, but in general, they follow similar steps like this:

  • Fill out and send an egg donor application Most application forms will ask about personal stuff , followed by your medical history. Wait for an invitation.
  • The clinic invites you back for some tests and interviews In the clinic, potential donors would have to undergo physical tests, ovarian function tests, psychological tests, drug tests, and other types of medical and psychological exams. The screenings can take six to eight weeks to complete.
  • The clinic lets you know whether theyve approved your application and whether theyve matched you to a recipient At this stage, youll also be informed of the next steps, your legal rights, how to self-administer your medications, and what you can and cant do while youre under medication .
  • You start medication. First, you stop your menstrual cycle. On the third week, you self-inject with a drug to reduce sex hormones, then a drug to stimulate multiple follicles to produce eggs, and then a final injection of follicle-stimulating hormone so that you ovulate on a specific date.
  • Eggs are retrieved from the donor. On the date of your ovulation, your eggs are harvested while youre under IV sedation. This step only takes 20 minutes.
  • Go back to the clinic. Youll be having post-retrieval checkups at the clinic, including a sonogram and a psych evaluation.

    Cost Of Selling Chicken Eggs

Umpqua Flashtail Mini Egg Oregon Cheese Fly Fishing Eggs Size 16

Thanks to this growing love for organic or humane products, you already have an existing market that you can reach with your chicken eggs. So how do you decide on the price?

You should start by considering the upkeep. How much does it cost to look after your chickens? Think of the price of housing, water, electricity, feed, etc. Then, compare with the average supermarket price. You can likely charge a bit more than your local supermarket does.

That being said, other factors could influence the price of your chicken eggs such as the availability in your local area. If you live in a town, people may be willing to spend more as they view it as a rare product.

In contrast, if you live rurally where there are many people selling their own chicken eggs then you might need to charge slightly less in order to make sales. You can always include a delivery service or subscription if you want to entice people to pay more.

You might want to offer a discount for bulk purchases or charge more during the winter when fresh eggs are more scarce.

Egg donor agencies often pay the egg donor the same compensation we do, but mark up the cost for recipient parents, making fertility treatment significantly more expensive.

When you have already suffered so much to have a baby, that hurts. We only charge recipients the $5,000 that you receive not $9,000 or more as egg donor agencies do. At ARMS, donor egg recipient parents only pay the egg donors compensation without any markup.

Plus, ARMS is the only fertility clinic in the area participating in a national egg bank service, meaning your donation can help a couple anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, not just locally.
