How To Make Ham And Cheese Croissant Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Spray a 10 x 7 inch oval baking dish with nonstick cooking spray . Arrange croissants in the baking dish so as to know where to place them after tossing in the egg mixture.
In a small bowl, beat heavy cream, milk, thyme, eggs, salt and pepper together. Gently roll sliced croissants into the egg mixture and put back into the baking dish.
Pour the rest of egg mixture over the tops of the croissants in the baking dish.
Top evenly with cubed mozzarella and sliced ham . Tuck the ham down gently in between the croissant pieces.
Cover the dish with foil, place on a baking tray and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5 – 10 minutes or until croissants are golden on top
Remove and serve immediately with honey and more fresh thyme if desired.
Tips And Make Ahead Instructions
If you like your sandwiches to be extra soft and gooey like a traditional Croissanwich, wrap them in foil before baking. I personally prefer the croissant get a little crispy, so I bake them uncovered.
To make ahead, assemble the sandwiches and wrap them in foil or saran wrap. Keep them in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Sandwiches can be baked in the oven, microwaved, or even air fried! Reheat uncovered in the oven for 15-20 minutes, air fryer for 3-4 minutes, or wrap in a slightly damp paper towel and microwave for 1 minute. Air frying was actually my favorite method for a quick, crispy croissant breakfast sandwich!
This recipe would be perfect for a holiday morning or special brunch. Assemble them the night before, then all you have to do is pop them in the oven in the morning! Serve with my favorite Christmas Morning Punch or Cranberry Mimosas.
You can also easily double the recipe if you need to feed a crowd!
How To Make This Breakfast Sandwich
Pre-step
Get a sauté pan and small jelly roll pan.
Step one
Gather the ingredients croissant, eggs, ham and muenster cheese.
Step two
Heat the sauté pan on medium and add two pieces of ham. Fry them until they are fried and set them aside.
Step three
Set your oven or toaster oven to broil.
Step four
Cut the croissant in half and place it on a small jelly roll pan. Add a piece of muenster cheese on the croissant and stick it in the oven.
Stand there and make sure the cheese is melted and the croissant is lightly toasted.
Step five
Meanwhile as the croissant is toasting, heat sauté pan on medium. Add a tablespoon of butter and once it melts, crack in two eggs.
Step six
The croissant should be done and the cheese melted, take it out of the oven and transfer to a plate.
Add two pieces of ham.
Step seven
Cook the eggs how you like them. I like them sunny-side up and runny.
Once the eggs are done, place the eggs on the ham. Also, I had to use a to croissant sandwich together for the photos!
I stuck my knife in the yolk to get it flowing.
So delicious.
I hope you enjoyed this croissant sandwich recipe.

Recipe For Making Egg Croissant Sandwich
The breakfast croissant recipe gives a special flavor to your mornings. These sandwiches will literally make you rise and shine.
The first step is to preheat the oven. Cut the croissants in half and place them on the baking paper. Using the baking paper will prevent the juices from sandwiches from getting stuck on your baking tray thus making the cleaning up much easier. Melt the butter using the bain-marie method and gently brush it over the croissant halves. Place a few slices of ham and a few slices of cheese on one side of the croissant. Cover it with a full spoon of scrambled eggs or one poached egg. When done, overlay the other half youve only brushed with melted butter over the half youve placed the other ingredients on. Put the ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwiches in the oven.
You will know that breakfast is ready when you can smell the tempting aromas coming out of your oven. If you want to know if the job is done, you should check the cheese. If it has melted, the croissant sandwiches are ready.

Ingredients For A Breakfast Croissant Sandwich
Lets chat for a bit about what weve got going on here.
- We start with croissants . A store bought croissant works perfectly well here, but if you want to get fancy, buy some from your favorite local bakery. Ours is Belles Bread here in Columbus. If you really want to be a show off, you can even make your own.
- Eggs I like very soft scrambled eggs for breakfast sandwiches, and this is what I recommend if youre making these ahead of time. However, if you love a drippy egg yolk, feel free to substitute with fried eggs!
- Ham Use deli ham OR leftovers from a holiday ham. And of course, feel free to substitute with one of the other members of the holy trinity of breakfast meatsbacon or sausage.
- Cheese I love Swiss with ham, so that was an easy choice, but cheddar, muenster, or gruyere would also be amazing.
- THE SAUCE- This is where the drive thru cant compare. Were slathering on a quick, creamy whole grain mustard and honey aioli to take these breakfast croissant sandwiches over the top.
Better Than The Croissanwich Ham And Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches
My love for the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich started at Burger King. Yes, you heard that right. My first introduction to this Ferrari of sandwiches was at a fast food joint. And not even the best fast food joint, lets be real.
Still, I refuse to apologize for my love of the Croissanwich. I loved every bit of it, from the square eggs and American cheese to the soft, buttery croissant packaging.
That ham and cheese croissant sandwich is what convinced me to get out of bed for church on Sunday mornings. Id love to tell you it was righteous zeal that had me rushing to get ready, but no. It was the thought of the BK drive thru and scarfing down a Croissanwich on the way to church.
Of course, as I got older I realized this croissant sandwich had little resemblance to the giant, shiny, flaky pastries you find in a French bakery.
But thats the incredible thing about croissants. The store bought ones cant compare to homemade, and still theyre amazing.
Today, Im recreating my favorite sandwich with a little grown-up flair. No square eggs or paper wrappers in sight.
These Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches will make you want to hop out of bed any day of the week. Best of all? You can easily make extras to store in the fridge, so youll have a breakfast thats even faster than the drive thru.

How about these Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches for your next brunch?
These little melty and flaky sandwiches are a crowd pleaser and theyre SO easy! Made with black forest ham, melty Havarti cheese, bakery-fresh croissants and an optional egg, these sandwiches make a super tasty and easy breakfast or brunch.
Tips For The Perfect Breakfast Croissant Sandwich
- Spreading a thin layer of mayo on the croissant helps keep all the ingredients in place and adds a little moisture to the sandwich. So good!
- For extra flavor, try spreading Dijon or honey mustard on the croissant.
- The recipe calls for sliced deli ham, but you could use leftover dinner ham on the sandwich too.
- Cook eggs over easy and then cover with cheese. If you dont like runny eggs you can pop the yolks open while cooking. Or scramble the eggs and pile them on the croissant.
- I love cheddar cheese slices on this breakfast sandwich but you could substitute Swiss, pepper jack, muenster or mozzarella cheese.
- Add a layer of bacon to the sandwich for even more savory flavor.
- Make these sandwiches ahead of time, wrap tightly and send them with your kids in their lunchboxes to school. Best lunch sandwich ever!

Can I Make Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches Ahead Of Time
You can but I would recommend making them when you are ready to serve. The cheese and egg mixture lasts so much better when freshly baked.
Croissants absorb all the oil and butter that you use turning them too soggy sandwiches which is not what you want.
So even though you can make them ahead of time I recommend making them when you want to serve them

Because of its fluffy texture and buttery taste, its still made and served today.
