Free Easter Egg Hunts In New Jersey

When you take your toddler to their first Easter egg hunt, you realize it can be brutal. As a parent, it’s your first lesson in letting them succeed or fail on their own … or not.

After we saw what can happen, I decided to dress up like the Easter Bunny and have one in my backyard, with some family and a few kids from the neighborhood. Once that was done, we went back to the official Easter Egg hunts we could find around New Jersey.

They’re a lot of fun and a great photo op. Here are some of the many hunts around the Central Jersey area. We’ll start with the free ones and then the others.

This Year Easter Falls on Sunday, April 17, 2022

Over the years Easter has become more secular in spirit, though it has it’s celebrations based on both pagan and Christian underpinnings. Pagan Spring festivities following the dark cold days of winter, were bright and celebratory. With the onset of warmer, lighter days, and the birth of new life that nature thrusts upon us, many of the current Easter symbols and events evolved from pagan Spring and equinox celebrations. In Medieval Europe, eggs being viewed as the symbol of life, were hung on trees and Maypoles during pagan spring or equinox festivals. In ancient Egypt, Persia, Greece, and Rome, during the equinox festivals, eggs were colored, used as decorations, eaten, and were sometimes used as gifts. The Easter bunny, representing the fertility of the rabbit, has become a secular Easter symbol. It was the German immigrants and their children that are believed to introduce the Easter Bunny and the colored eggs in the U.S.

Note: Sometimes conditions require cancellations or changes of dates, times and location which are not reflected in the original schedule. Loved It We Had A Really Nice Time Thank You

Best Easter Egg Hunt Bunnies were great! They had everything set up before the kids arrived and coffee/tea station for us to pull up our lawn chairs while the kids searched the picnic area in the park for the eggs. Bunny helpers were great with the kids and even lead a sing along! The Easter Bunny is exactly like the photo, even cuter in person, looked great in the photos, funny and we loved the overall experience of the Bunnies/entertainers who did the kids face painting and balloons. I splurged for the better prize package which wasnt candy based. They give you options which is cool. Top 3 egg collectors get the best prizes. First place was a freaking IPad! Thanks for the best time. It was the best Easter Egg Hunt weve ever had.
