    Bacon Deviled Eggs Variations

While this recipe is incredibly delicious as written , you can always tweak it a bit.

    • Vinegar: If youve made my classic deviled eggs you know that I used vinegar, rather than pickle relish in that recipe. Both ways are delicious, so its up to you.
    • Cheese: When bacon and chives are used, cheese seems like a no-brainer. A little sprinkle of sharp cheddar, gruyere or goat cheese added to the filling is delicious.
    • Spice: If youre craving a little more spice, you could always add paprika, tabasco, or sriracha hot sauce.

Whatever you do, just make sure to add plenty of bacon. You guests will keep coming back for seconds and thirds, because the bacon is what makes this recipe utterly addictive. So remember big chunks of bacon, no light dustings around here.

They are simply classic deviled eggs with crisp-cooked chopped bacon that is folded into the yolk filling mixture and then garnished on top.

Im not kidding when I say that your friends and family will absolutely agree that these are the best appetizers on the table.

Can You Make Deviled Eggs The Day Before

Creole Shrimp Deviled Eggs | Deviled Egg Recipe

Deviled eggs are one of the easiest appetizers to make in advance. You can store cooked, hard-boiled eggs in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can also make the deviled egg mixture up to two days in advance, but you’ll want to keep the whites separate from the yolk filling until the day of your event. Cover the halved whites with plastic wrap and store the yolk filling in a resealable zip-top bag, squeezing out as much air as possible. When you’re ready to fill the deviled eggs, take the filling out of the refrigerator and squeeze it lightly with your hands to warm it up, which makes it easier to pipe into the whites.

What Is The Perfect Boiled Egg

A perfect hard-boiled egg should have a firm yolk, and when you cut into it, there should be no gray ring around the egg yolk. That gray ring means the egg has been cooked too long.

Sure, you can still eat them if you have a gray ring around the egg, but hard boiled egg purists like myself pride ourselves on creating a beautiful boiled egg.

How To Fill Deviled Eggs With Bacon

Sometimes the filling for deviled eggs can be piped into the egg white. But because of the bacon, cheese, and onions in this recipe, it is best to spoon the filling. I find that it is easiest to use a small spoon for this job.

    Tips For Peeling Hard

For a beautiful deviled egg platter, you want the peeled egg white to come out clean and smooth. Generally, older eggs are the easiest to peel. If using farm fresh eggs, use the instant pot boiled eggs method to cook eggs for easier peeling. Follow these tips for peeling hard-boiled eggs to prevent the shell from sticking:

    • Chill boiled eggs in an ice bath right after they are cooked
    • Roll the egg on the counter to crack the shell all around then soak in a bowl of water for a minute. The water gets under the shell and makes it easier to peel.
    • Start peeling the egg from the wide end of the egg where the air pocket is to get under the membrane.
    • If you get a stubborn egg, peel while submerged in a bowl of water or under running water

    Spanish Smoked Paprika Delicious

Best Ever Cheddar Bacon Ranch Deviled Eggs

The Spanish smoked paprika we use is made by La Dalia. Their Pimentón de La Vera has been produced in Spain since 1913 and they were the first company to make the famous smoked paprika of La Vera. The peppers used to produce La Dalias Pimentón La Vera are hand-harvested each year in early autumn. Just after harvesting, the peppers are sent to wooden smoke houses filled with the smoke of Encina oak wood fires. The peppers are never touched by fire, as they are placed on grids above the flame. For 15 days, the peppers are dried in this intense smoke. Once dried, La Dalia grinds the peppers on traditional granite millstones resulting in a silky, rust-red paprika that is both deeply flavored and smoky. Their smoked paprika is a key ingredient in traditional Paella, but it is also excellent when used to flavor meats, fish, and sauces.

First of all, it is really not that pricey just a bit difficult to find. We found the answer from an importer of Spanish foods and kitchen ware, La Tienda. The link will take you right to the smoked paprika we use in many of our recipes. They sell hotter versions we find the sweet smoked version is less overpowering. They also offer excellent Spanish chorizo and ham all low carb! Feel free to shop with your local purveyor also offers it in bulk if you will use a lot, but know that these two foodies find this brand is the best. Remember our goal is Tasty Low Carb!

To make filling deviled eggs so much easier, we recommend grabbing a set of piping bags to help your yolks stay neat. You can even jazz up the look of your deviled eggs by using different piping tips. Just be sure they’re large enough for the egg mixture to not clog up.

If you’re hard-boiling eggs frequently, you also might want to consider adding an egg cooker to your arsenal. This fan-favorite egg cooker from Dash can cook up to seven eggs with the push of a button.
