Green Egg & Kamado Joe Grills Built into Outdoor Kitchen (IDEAS)

If you are looking for a new outdoor grill, you might have considered the iconic Big Green Egg, which has been storming the cookout market for several decades thanks to its ability to maintain high temperatures for sustained periods of time, its low fuel usage, and the restaurant-quality food it produces even by newcomers to cooking.

It is more expensive than many of its competitors, but it is made from NASA-grade materials for an unrivaled quality that will last a lifetime.

It can bake, smoke, roast, slow cook, and do anything you would want a regular kitchen oven to do. You can also buy accessories such as baking plates so that you can make cakes or pizzas. A green egg comes in many different sizes, which we will go into detail about in this article.

Find The Best Big Green Eggs At A Low Price

Even to novice barbeque enthusiasts, some grills have the advantage of being universally recognizable. This is particularly true for the kamado or iconic ceramic style grill, popularly referred to as the Big Green Egg. It garnered attention as the first of its kind in the US.

While only a handful of products that first hit the market have the luxury of becoming impressively synonymous with their brands, the Big Green Egg remains known to date.

It’s been about 50 years since its penetration into the grilling world, but the BGE remains one of the most durable and easily accessible kamado grills in the market.

A myriad of grills appeals to seasoned backyard veterans or novices, but the Big Green Egg is an incredible choice for both.

The History Of Big Green Egg Throughout Civilization

In the beginning, there was wood, dry leaves, lightning and eventually, fire. Early man soon learned the flavor benefits of cooking meat over this exciting discovery, which quickly gained acclaim as far superior to gnawing on raw Tyrannosaurus ribs!

Later cultures discovered that the results were even better when the fire and food were contained inside a dome-shaped, earthen vessel. Evidence of these early prototypes of the Big Green Egg have been found by archeologists in the ruins of nearly every civilization around the worldexcept for the Propanians, who preferred to scorch their meals using volcanic gasses, the Pelletonians, who starved to death while trying to un-jam their augers, and the DriveThruians, who ate all their meals from take-out and quickly vanished from planet Earth.

Todays Big Green Egg is a modern-day evolution of these ancient cookers. Centuries ago, these knee-high cookers known as kamados were fueled by wood or natural charcoal , and pots were hung inside them for cooking rice. Eventually a slatted cooking grid was added inside for grilling and roasting meats. Popularity spread as U.S. service members discovered kamado cookers during World War II and shipped them home after the war. The domed cookers were an exciting alternative to the metal charcoal or gas grills of the day, and people became enamored with the added flavor and juiciness this newly discovered style of cooking gave to foods.

Custom Outdoor Kitchen With A Built

We love this outdoor kitchen for so many reasons! This was our first Green Egg installation, though looking at the professional work and the attention to detail you would never know it. A lot of thought went into this outdoor kitchen in the design phase, from the thickness of the granite to the width of the stacked stone, figuring out the clearances and the height at which the base would need to sit took quite a bit of time.

We werent the only ones that put in the time to make it perfect. We met the homeowner at the granite yard twice, in search of that perfect granite which turned out to be an upgraded Wild Sea Green. Of all the granites we have installed, if we had to pick one that said Southwest Florida, this would be the one. It literally looks like it was cut from the sandy bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. It has swirls and pebbles and undulations. It was paired with the Silver Travertine stacked stone façade and the way that the colors complemented one anotheragain all we can say is perfection.

We used the Large Green Egg, a Bull outdoor rated refrigerator, under-mount sink with a high-arc faucet and a single access door.
